Custom TV Apps

Add missing Samsung TV, Android TV, and Google TV apps to Remote Control for TV.

Use this reference when Remote Control for TV does not show an app you want to launch. Custom apps are supported for Samsung TV and Android TV or Google TV devices.

Quick Answer

Use the Samsung TV custom app IDs page for numeric Samsung launch IDs. Use the Android TV and Google TV custom app IDs page for package names, launchable URLs, and deep links. In Remote Control for TV, open your saved TV, open Apps, tap Custom Apps, then enter the app name, ID or URL, and optional icon URL.

How to Add a Custom TV App

In the app, open your saved TV, open Apps, tap the Custom Apps button, then enter:

  1. App name
  2. App ID or URL from the Samsung or Android TV page
  3. Icon URL, if you want one

The icon is optional. You can leave the icon field blank, or copy the link address from an icon in the platform table.

Tips

  • Add custom apps only for Samsung TV and Android TV or Google TV. Other TV platforms do not show the Custom Apps button.
  • For Samsung, use numeric IDs from the Samsung TV custom app IDs page.
  • For Android TV, use a package name, URL, or deep link from the Android TV and Google TV custom app IDs page.
  • Custom apps are saved per TV. Add the same custom app again if you want it on another saved TV.
  • App availability varies by country, TV model, firmware, and installed app version.
